The A380 began a series of global route proving flights today as one of the final steps for its Type Certification, which is expected in mid-December. Departing from Airbus' Toulouse, France headquarters at 2:52 p.m., the no. 2 A380 headed for its first destination - Singapore. This will be followed by a stopover in Seoul, Korea on 15 November, with the aircraft returning to Toulouse via Singapore on 16 November. During its 18 days of route proving missions, the A380 will visit a total of 10 different airports in four trips - demonstrating its capabilities on a continuous typical airline schedule, while performing in the aircraft?s normal operational environment. The second route proving trip will involve a 17 November evening departure from Toulouse for a flight to Hong Kong. It will be followed by a landing in Narita, Japan on 19 November, with the A380 returning to Toulouse the next day.
